It's incredible how the lineage of influences from John Zorn's Naked City went through Mr Bungle to Fantomas, which led to Slipknot writing such an avant-garde track as Scissors. It's amazing how something like Hanatarash and Melvins' Lysol to Naked City's Leng T'che and Grand Guignol could actually break through in a top charting mainstream metal album in 1999. People don't even realize ehat Slipknot were, not even thr band themselves seemingly these days.

When asked, in 2019, if Scissors would ever make it back into the set list, Jim said they hadn’t talked about it because the fans wanted to hear the new stuff. He also said something about it that I never knew before. They use Drop-B tuning for most of their songs, but they tune the low B down to F# to match the 5th string. That why it has that crazy drone-like sound.

For me this is a work of art, pure expression of rage and depressions caused by trauma's, there will never be another band like this.

Where do I remember hearing "you cannot fuck with this band" from? It was either Slipknot Goat DVD or the Subliminal Versus DVD, its been a decade since I've watched those DVD's
